About the Lodge
Silver Birch Lodge has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It was built in 2005 and is exceptionally well insulated – very important when returning from walking or climbing on a cold and wet winter’s day! It is also easy to maintain a cool environment in warm weather as there is a heat exchange unit in the loft.
The Lodge is set in a large garden and has 3 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, a bathroom, kitchen and small utility room.
The two main bedrooms are upstairs. They both have ensuite toilet and shower facilities, spacious mirrored wardrobes and large zip and link beds. These can either be joined as doubles or set up as twin beds. Please specify your choice when making your reservation. The third bedroom is on the ground floor. It has a large single bed with guest bed underneath. These can also be zip and linked together to become another double. All bed linen (duvets) and towels are included.
There is a family bathroom with over bath shower, toilet and washbasin. The large bath is ideal for a long soak for relaxation at the end of an energetic day.
The dining room, from which you can enjoy views of The Five Sisters of Kintail and Loch Duich, has a large oak table with matching chairs to seat six adults comfortably. Accessed from the dining room via the French window is a decked veranda which has a small table and chairs.
The sitting room has two settees, an armchair a table and two footstools. It is a peaceful room in which to relax and read, chat or watch television. There is also a DVD/video player with a small library of discs and tapes and books. All normal freeview channels are available through the Skysat system.
In the kitchen there is a gas hob with five burners and an electric grill/oven underneath; a microwave, dishwasher, tumble dryer and various small electrical appliances. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and drinking glasses of various sizes! There is also a wide range of pots, pans and utensils. The extra large fridge/freezer is in the adjoining utility room along with the washing machine and a second sink unit.
Other facilities available include a travel cot, highchair and dog basket and feeding bowl. Please note there is no telephone or internet access and no smoking in the house. | |
